...I need to think of some options for a team name. And a sigil.
[She fixes him with a slightly lopsided smile.]
Well, I don't have any way of sensing when you're in danger, but. If you ever require a witchly hand in any tasks, you know who to look for. And if you find yourself in any large cages, I promise to vigorously attempt to liberate you. But not so vigorously that I risk expiration.
That one's a bit more long-term than something like spending an hour telling an egg stories so it'll hatch. [She taps her cheek.] Hum. Guess I've done that one twice.
[She peeks into her money pouch. Still empty. She hasn't been doing a whole lotta fluid swapping.]
Have you discovered any ways to earn silver besides... [She gestures.] The bodily fluid extravaganza?
I have a more in depth understanding of the situation.
Just continue reading.
You are not going crazy, but neither am I a shadow.
I am an Esmau from an alternate timeline that was encouraged by your mother to realise Lilith would eventually turn on me as well after she did what she was planning to do to you and the other cousins.
I won't say I became braver. No, I became much more paranoid.
I told you to leave the Voidheart alone and never ever speak of it or come back.
But you came back and took it anyway.
Then Lilith told me to kill you and I made up some concoction about not having the heart, or whatever, and she said she'd do it herself.
She killed you.
Then...
I stabbed Lilith while she did it. While her back was turned for that split moment.
I'll leave you to fill in the blanks, but it took me, your sister, and your mother to bring down Lilith even after I stabbed her in the back.
I knew you received the Voidheart to bring you back to life, but I never saw you again.
I found a new coven in which to live.
I maintain Christmas card contact with your family.
Then, I came here.
Finished reading?
Good.
I think you understand.
And I understand.
The one called Linnea knows of people from splits in their own timelines, and there are even some here already.
There are now, apparently, two more.
I won't ask you to forgive 'that' Esmau, nor forget your feelings.
But I am not 'that' Esmau.
You should know that I do not lie. I gain nothing from crafting some false narrative. There is no fantasy here to delude you or make you think that you are insane.
These are simply the facts. Read them again, if you care to do so.
I am here, and I am a flesh and blood person.
And...
One final thing.
Do not go around projecting your feelings or goals on me.
I never wanted nor needed to be loved by someone else.
In fact, I prefer the opposite. It would be a distraction from magic. Magic is power, and I value power.
As my pupil, you surely understand that.
Thank you very much for reading this far until the end. Assuming you did: bravo Nessa.
Dokja, day 1

Re: Dokja, day 1
I haven't found out the rules for death in this place yet, to start with, so I'd rather people not die.
[people not him, that is.]
Re: Dokja, day 1
[Fourth, technically, but let's not talk about that.]
Do you think there'll be tasks here, too?
