[ENTER THE PALACE]
[You find yourself with a sensation like floating in water.]
[Above, the sky is dark. You can occasionally see things shifting, like gusts of wind, or perhaps waves of water. Is it…even a sky above you? Or is it some kind of giant ocean? Whatever it is, you can’t make it out very well. All around you, you appear to be floating in what appears to be water. It looks like a great, wide ocean of…space in every direction around you, with stars and lights twinkling in the distance. It looks like water and feels like water, but it doesn’t make you wet. You can reach your hand into it and pull some out, the purple and violet water and the tiny points of light inside it will even rest in your hands if you cup them to carry it, but once you’re not trying to hold it anymore, it’ll flow off of you, not a single drop remaining behind. You feel something similar if you go underneath the surface. The “water” doesn’t touch your eyes, mouth or nose when give the chance, it merely drifts around you, allowing you to breathe and see unabated. And you can see for a great distance, the twinkling stars illuminating the ocean of space all around you. Though perhaps less dark and empty, it feels every bit as vast as the sky above. You feel like you could swim forever and never reach the edge.]
[It’s quiet, here, with little noise around you but the starry ocean’s waves crashing back into its surface. It’s peaceful. In another situation, it might even be comfortable.]

He doesn't really have time to think, so he's immediately throwing himself off to one side to try to dodge. ]

Roll 1d20-4: 20!!!
Minato weaves through the smoke and debris, attempting to get away from her thrust.....!
Just to find her, somehow, standing right in the position he tried to dodge to, with her weapon reared back.
She lets out a shrill laugh and swings the blade, smashing it into Minato's side for double damage!!! He feels the blade cutting into him and the overwhelming, otherworldly force behind the swing makes him feel something crack down there as well. It's enough to launch him across the courtyard, into another pillar.]
[Minato: 60/100 HP]
[Bright side, he can hear his phone yelling at him, so he's not unconscious again yet!
Step 8: RUN!!!!
SERIOUSLY, STOP TRYING TO FIGHT HER AND RUN!
Shadow Nessa: YOU’RE TRYING TO FIGHT HER?! ARE YOU INSANE?! RUN AWAY! OH MY GOD, SHE’S GONNA CUT YOUR HEAD OFF, GET OUT OF THERE! ]

he'd really like to protest that he wasn't exactly trying to pick a fight with her, but, well--he doesn't really have the breath or the time! It takes all he has to pick himself back up again, but Minato's strong suit has always been continuing on no matter how bad things get, and so pick himself up he does, wincing, breath shuddering out of him as he slowly manages to stumble to his feet.
AND THEN HE RUNS, at least as best he can, staggering away to the east since it's the closest direction he's got. ]

[Esmau swings at his back --

-- just barely missing it as he staggers away. But she's still chasing after him....! Before he gets too far down the path, his phone beeps again.]
[Step 10: AGNIS!
GO TO HEARTHSIDE! GO TO HEARTHSIDE NOW, IT’S IN THE NORTH WING!
Shadow Nessa: Agnis is your only hope! Go! Run! NOW!]

[ but nonetheless, wincing, he lurches suddenly towards the north direction, trying to move so suddenly as to hopefully throw Esmau at least a little off. ]

The sudden movement works and Esmau's glaive strikes the ground where Minato was standing. She apparently swung a little too hard and the blade gets stuck in the ground.]
Oh -- COME! ON!
[Esmau has to take a couple seconds to extricate her implement of violence, giving Minato time to get down the path and into the pool...
Unfortunately, once you're there, she's not far behind.]
