[ENTER THE PALACE]
[You find yourself with a sensation like floating in water.]
[Above, the sky is dark. You can occasionally see things shifting, like gusts of wind, or perhaps waves of water. Is it…even a sky above you? Or is it some kind of giant ocean? Whatever it is, you can’t make it out very well. All around you, you appear to be floating in what appears to be water. It looks like a great, wide ocean of…space in every direction around you, with stars and lights twinkling in the distance. It looks like water and feels like water, but it doesn’t make you wet. You can reach your hand into it and pull some out, the purple and violet water and the tiny points of light inside it will even rest in your hands if you cup them to carry it, but once you’re not trying to hold it anymore, it’ll flow off of you, not a single drop remaining behind. You feel something similar if you go underneath the surface. The “water” doesn’t touch your eyes, mouth or nose when give the chance, it merely drifts around you, allowing you to breathe and see unabated. And you can see for a great distance, the twinkling stars illuminating the ocean of space all around you. Though perhaps less dark and empty, it feels every bit as vast as the sky above. You feel like you could swim forever and never reach the edge.]
[It’s quiet, here, with little noise around you but the starry ocean’s waves crashing back into its surface. It’s peaceful. In another situation, it might even be comfortable.]

COURTYARD
You get the feeling this place has seen better days. The paths, walls and ceilings are all damaged, with chunks of floor and wall littered all over the place, fallen in the pool, etc. There’s photos, paintings, statues and other works of art along the walls, but they’re too faded, torn, damaged or destroyed to recognize.
The pool at the center of the palace breaks into four streams, going down paths in each of the four cardinal directions:
- To your left, a dirt path rises up alongside the stream, with shrubs and bushes surrounding it and growing larger the further down the path. At the end, the stream of space grows into another pool with a ring of what have become full-fledged trees surrounding it. Enter the pool to be taken to the East Wing
- In front of you, a stone path and grassy ground slowly slopes upwards, reaching a grassy hill with a pool at the center. Enter the pool to be taken to the North Wing
- To your right, the path becomes a sidewalk with street lights and mailboxes. At the end of the sidewalk is a pool with a door in it. Enter the pool to be taken to the West Wing
- Behind you is a staircase heading downwards (or since you and the palace are upside down, maybe it’s upwards….?). Going down the staircase will take you to the South Wing]

Look at her now. When she left, she was but a Cosplay Child. But she returns....a Cosplay Woman.
Come here, we have just a couple more things to discuss.

THE WITCH'S TOWER
[CLANG. CLANG. CLANG.]
[The noise echoes for a few seconds and…]
Oh, hold on one second! I’ll buzz you up!
[There’s a voice coming from the….buzzer? There’s a buzzer next to the door. You hear a buzz and the wooden door opens, allowing you into…]
[What appears to be the living room of an apartment? A voice comes from around the corner:]
Go ahead and let yourself in! Just close the door behind you!
[It’s the same voice as the one that let you in.]
no subject
A tower!
Once he's let in, he just kind of stands there, dripping and looking a bit like a drowned cat, expression ever-so-slightly frowny.
But he does obediently close the door behind him. Phew. ]

HEARTHSIDE
[The mid-day sun is shining down on you. It’s a beautiful Spring day and you’ve surfaced from your pool in the middle of the street.]
[A look around shows that you’ve landed in what appears to be a small village in the countryside. It’s kinda hilly. At the bottom of the hill (where you are currently), there’s a number of shops and businesses and whatnot. Then a bridge over a small river that leads into the hills, where most of the houses seem to be. It’s a pretty cute little place.]
Very good, then, let’s move it along, here, you’re blocking traffic.
[A police officer gives you a look and a gesture to move it. Luckily, once you climb out, the pool will close up, until you need it again anyway. Fortunately enough…nobody seems that bothered by you just showing up or whatever strange appearance you may or may not have.]
[You can cross the bridge, look at the shops or speak to the villagers.]

@MINATO
[Esmau is leaping out of the pool just seconds after Minato, spinning her glaive in one hand as she walks after him.]
You haven't keeled over again yet?! You're a pretty stubborn rat!
Stubborn really pisses me off!
"Well, well, well, what's all this then."
[The officer approaches Esmau, looking unimpressed, arms crossed.]
"Right, ma'am, that's enough of this, why don't we move it alon--"
[Without looking, Esmau pulls her arm back. When she swings, she knocks the officer off into the horizon, like a baseball. A small ding! can be seen in the sky a few seconds later.]

REVERIE
Wait a minute.
This seems familiar.]
[Yes, the more you look around, the more you recognize. The village, the clock tower, the motel, it’s all here…this is the prison you know and have no choice but to tolerate. It seems unlikely that taking a staircase made you just exit the palace entirely, so this is probably just an abstraction of the prison within Nessa’s consciousness? An abstraction within someone’s subconscious of an abstract realm in between dreams and reality, try not to think too hard about that or you might open up a tear in existence.]
[You’re not alone in the graveyard. There’s a figure sitting on a tombstone nearby….a figure in a dark cloak obscuring their face….holding a long stick of some kind….they seem to be looking at you. Well. That’s probably nothing.]
[You can also explore the clocktower, the library or the motel.]
no subject
[she tries calling out to the figure! But if there's no reply...]
I suppose I should start with the Clock Tower.
[to the clock tower!]

???
[It's almost like it was outside, in that big ocean of stars. You think you can even hear the sounds of waves again....but rather than being surrounded by a vast ocean, you're surrounded by clouds. White, fluffy clouds drift by and the surface beneath you is soft and cushiony, to the point where it takes a second or two to get used to walking on it.]

THE DARK FOREST
[this feels familiar, and not in a good way.]
[Your feet touch the dirt ground and you see the cabins and you remember a sense of foreboding. That’s small, however, compared to when your eyes wander to the center of this small village and fall on…..the temple….]
[Your chest twitches in pain. Your breath might have gotten a bit quicker without you noticing it. If you focus on the fact that these feelings of fair and anxiety aren’t yours, you can keep them at bay. But if you let your guard down, that temple will start to feel like an obelisk that threatens to pull itself out of the ground and fall on top of you at any second. Just…try not to think about it.]
[Most of the cabins have their doors closed and will be inaccessible. But one cabin has its door slightly ajar.]
[All around the village is the forest, but behind one of the cabins in particular, there seems to be some noises coming from the trees.]
[There’s a small open area with a large wooden table out in the open. It looks like it’s a gathering area of some kind.]
[And besides that, there’s… … …the temple. The closer you get, the more those twitches in your chest start to hurt.]
@TSUMUGI
Oh my god, how stupid ARE you?! This is my home, you idiot, you thought you could run away from me here!
[She slams her glaive on the ground once.]
You just made this so much easier for me.
[And...yeah...as invincible as Esmau usually is, she seems even stronger right now in this forest. And worst, that tightness in your chest isn't getting any better. Did Shadow Nessa steer you wrong...?]

LANTERN COVE
[As you climb the rocks, they bob up and down slightly, just enough to keep you guessing and make you worry you might tumble into the water below. The further you go, daylight rapidly fades away and before you know it, night has fallen. But you don’t lose your way just yet - the further up you get, bright orange lights carried in lanterns float by you and start to fill the air, lighting your path along the rocks and to the waterfall.]
[Once you reach the waterfall, you notice something. There’s more light coming from behind it. It looks like there’s an entire cave back there. Maybe if you’re careful, you can slip around the waterfall without being soaked.]
[Roll a 1d6, 4 or higher doesn’t get soaked.]
no subject
Minato keeps his hand tightly in Akira's, carefully but relatively fearlessly climbing the rocks, not a shred of fear of heights in him.
So once they get to the waterfall? He's pretty ready to see what's lurking back there, meeting Akira's eyes and nodding. IN THEY GO.
(With a 5, Minato is Not Wet.) ]
